Recommendations & Travel Tips
Please, always inform us of any health conditions or allergies in advance to help prevent any issues during the tour!
- Bring a light jacket or layers: Weather in the Sacred Valley can vary throughout the day. Mornings can be chilly, while midday is usually warm and sunny.
-
Wear comfortable walking shoes: You’ll be walking on uneven terrain and stone paths, especially at archaeological sites like Ollantaytambo and Pisac.
-
Stay hydrated: The altitude can be challenging, so bring a reusable water bottle and drink water regularly.
-
Use sun protection: Even on cloudy days, UV rays are strong at high altitudes. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
-
Carry some cash (local currency): Local markets in Chinchero and Pisac often don’t accept cards. Having small bills handy is useful for shopping or buying snacks. Along the way, there may be places to exchange money, but they aren’t always available, so it’s best to come prepared.
-
Bring your passport or a copy: Entrance tickets (especially for archaeological sites) may require ID verification.
-
Altitude tips: If you’re not used to high altitudes, try to avoid heavy meals the night before, rest well, and consider coca tea or altitude tablets (ask your doctor before using any medication).
